I had read somewhere a year ago that BD movies owned per BD player numbers were underperforming compared to a similar stage in DVD's life... and the article said BD may possible never hit DVD peak attachment rate |

Totals since 1997 for DVD
DVDs = 12.5B
DVD Players = 297M
Attach Ratio about 42 Movies per player
Blu-ray Totals since launch
BDs = 350 M
BD Players = 28.5M
Attach Ratio about 12 movies per player.
Now according to the report it doesnt say that DVD Players include game consoles, but it does for Blu-ray Players. If that truely is the case then the numbers are slightly skewed. As that would mean that the Xbox, Xbox 360 and PS2 are all excluded from that total, which all 3 combined are at 90M currently. That would drop the attachment rates considerably, 32 Movies per player. Or if you remove the PS3 from the Blu-ray Players, which is at 21M, it would put the attachement numbers higher than the DVD numbers, 46.5 Movies per player. Only the first one seems legitimate to do though.
I personally dwarf those attachment rates. 150 BD Movies per player, 200 DVD Movies per player
