Is there an accurate figures showing the sales ratio of BD movies owned per BD player ? I had read somewhere a year ago that BD movies owned per BD player numbers were underperforming compared to a similar stage in DVD's life... and the article said BD may possible never hit DVD peak attachment rate because the business model for movies is changing.. since convience often wins over now.. meaning DVD never had to compete against the convience purchases of a HD on demand movie on cable, or Direct TV, or Xbox 360 Zune 1080p movies, or even the so easy and convient Netflix (which has limited HD, but many DVD picture quality movies ), RedBox on the street corner close by ,etc,, etc.. and people now have the option to buy (or rent) digital downloaded HD movies...so they can rent an HD movie at a fraction of buying one... At one time everyone bought alot of DVD's because they saw it like this will never get ruined or outdated , but it did get outdated per say as far as 'picture quality' .. I think some people are sort of tired of the big library concept that before they didnt mind.. and maybe AGAIN part of this is so many HD movies can be ordered on demand now.. and there arent alot of movies people will OWN to watch over and over... 10 yrs ago you had to have MEDIA ( either a VHS tape or a DVD ) and now other digital options are changing it all... Kids under 18yrs of age might take for granted that only 15 yrs ago half of the world was still on dialup ! Many young kids grow up not knowing what they 'missed' or 'didnt miss' ...Internet speeds will be so fast in another 15 yrs that physical media might become more a dinosaur..
