You're joking, right?  We did indeed have "Wii visuals" back in 2000/01... it was called the PS2/Xbox/GC.

With the exception of a handful of 1st party titles like Prime 3 / Other M and the Mario Galaxy games, plus maybe one or two 3rd party efforts, about 99% of Wii's library looks no better than the games from last generation, and some look like they were from the N64/PSX generation.

The Wii is substantially more powerful than the consoles in the previous gen. Just because developers didn't make use of that power, doesn't mean it isn't there.
