You want to know my opinion...Its all about market share, market share, market share. IMO Microsoft is more than willing to take a hit in revenue if it gives them a boost in market share. In business many times you have to make some sacrifices in order to stay ahead and beating your competitors in market saturation. You can count me on saying a price cut will come from MS before middle of September.
IMO it would be almost foolish for MS not to respond after a price cut from their competitors. Even if a $50 price cut on PS3's won't bring huge boosts in sales they still have to deflate any momentum that it may give their competitors. That is business at its core.

So yes, MS will cut their price fairly soon after they judge the effects of the PS3 price cuts. I would look for across the board cuts of $50 on all hardware.
