Seems to allign well. If they don't cut in September I can't see them cutting at all, and I'm not sure how they'll outsell PS3 this year WW like they claim.

Perhaps they're talking shipments though, as they're already 500k ahead.

I agree on the timing, but think TGS is a poor venue considering the Xbox 360's smallest/weakest market is Japan.

I predict an announcement in a few weeks after MS has a chance to see the effect of the PS3 price cut, still before Gears 3 definitely.

Well, I only say TGS because it's there at the right time. If it wasn't I'm sure they'd still make the announcement roughly around that time frame.
