N64 and Gamecube were launched after the PS and PS2. People already picked the PS as their system of choice and a Price Cut couldn't do anything about it when the PS systems had 4x the games.

3DS is having a Price Cut before PSV is released and before major game releases...3DS will be fine and sell very well IMO.


You're assuming the PS1 and 2 hurt the systems, not that Nintendo didn't hurt the systems themselves.

Nintendo made mistakes just like every business does but as a consumer looking to buy a game system...PS and PS2 were the obvious picks.

The PS and PS2 had 100's of more games than the N64/GC. To the average person it becomes obvious what console to buy. Publishers supported Sony way more than Nintendo and a Price Cut was never going to change that.

With 3DS it is different.

Yes fortunatly for PSV 3DS won't have any serious game advantage when PSV launches.
