Consumers are stupid and don't know what's good for them. I remember when the PS1 and Saturn launched. The SNES still outsold them. When the SNES launched, the Nes sold more. Hell, when the PS3 and 360 launched, the PS2 outsold them, too!!
It's just the way the industry works and always has worked. Sometimes I wonder if Sebastian Kramer loves 2D Mario games a little too much. He probably sucks at Mario Kart and 3D Mario games and that's why he hates 3D.
