A little more 3D would be great in the next Sonic installment (Sonic Generations?), but like you pointed out the fact that Sonic Colors doesn't have any major flaws that all of the other 3D Sonic games have makes the 2D-3D imbalance forgivable.
Was it the wisps themselves or was it the powers the brought Sonic that you could live without? Because I thought the powers were a nice touch to vary the gameplay.
