It is like comparing a Ferarri to a Honda. Of course one of the options is much better, but you pay premium for it.
At the end of the day, for $500, a few games a sub (is this REALLY necessary?) to get a 24' 3D splitscreen for local MP is not bad. I have seen a good bit on the ghosting issues as well, and they are getting better. To expect them to go away completely is silly, but the ghosting might not be enough to keep people away from the Value of the deal.
It comes down to $500 for 2 games, split (inferior to some, different to most) 3D MP screen + 2 glasses vs. $500 For a superior display that wont do the split screen.
It is all about personal preference. Im very excited about the potential for 1 screen split MP 3D, but they have a way to go before I plunge in. Im still waiting for my 2xDLP Theater passive projectors.

Viewsonic one comes with 3d vision glasses for PC and receiver for 500 which is 150 bucks on its own. I see both products being sub 400 withn 3 months. No really "Ferrari" like premium if you ask me...
I guess if one is 100% set on console gaming, and wants to give 3D a go on consoles and has a sibling which they play games with together on a regular basis, and limited space...the Sony one may be a viable option. I'd like to try it and see what this full screen split screen looks like, but being used to DLP 3D, I find 1500 dollar LCDs dissapointing in 3D...so my expectations for a 24 inch 4 ms repsonse time pannel are pretty low.
Does anyone know if this Sony TV supports side to side, top/bottom 3D? If not, and it only does frame packing, people who want to watch comcast 3D cable or play 360 3D are screwed...
And 2XDLP 3D is something we are both waiting for. I personally want a single unit with 2 polarised lenses doing full 1080p 3D. Don't want to bother with 2 projectors... Sadly I don't think we will see this for a few years. There are a few interesting 3D projectors coming along...Panasonic has the AE7000 coming out which is the first LCD 3D projector. And Optoma has an high end HDMI 1.4 compatible projector which is coming in at 1500 bucks. Not bad...

Again, this doesn't function as a TV (there's not even a tuner), it's just a Display/Monitor. Of course there are more viable options out there, but not one with this deal. I'm picking it up as an easy way to ease into the 3D era (I was once one of THE most vocal advocates against 3D gaming), because I live in a room that compliments the size of the Display. The kicker here though is the deal going on, two games, an HDMI cable, sub woofers, USB cord etc, etc...all for $500 - and only with GameStop.
So the Display itself wouldn't really cost much more than $300 outside of that (which I'm thinking after these sell out, they sell it stand alone for cheaper).

I understand this now and I agree that this may be a good buy as a bundle for someone that wants to buy all this.
However for those that just want resistance 3 and a 3D monitor to play it on(most people I think), there are better monitor options for cheaper.
