yeah but u have to put that into perspective alot of things happened between his prediction and Wii and DS success like PSP hack and poor software plus PS3 launch HW supply constraints, poor software content and high price
its like saying,USA at the current path will default in a few years time and end up badly, but if americans take some actions and what happens between now and default will change the future Then the whole time rather then admitting he was wrong he kept saying that WiiHD was coming and that Nintendo was failing yet again. Of course if you say Nintendo will fail and keep saying that every week for the rest of your life, your bound to be right sooner or later at least for awhile. this again is the same situation he though as a business ninty will take action to correct its future its like a person has $2m income today and enjoys it and doesn't do anything for the future and when the future arrives regrets not working for it another smart guy who has $2m as income, uses $1m and invest's $1m to maintain his life in the future
ninty should have done the latter one like pachter predicted and though ninty was a smart business company but ninty took the first path
Michael does say some interesting things and he definatly knows abit about the industry. But he's no super man he doesn't know anything the average gamer couldn't tell you. really? leave average gamers, very few hardcore gamers keep info about the industry Have you watched Pach Attack I could answer half if not almost all of those questions and I am not a high paid analyst. sure as we closely follow the industry with finance reports, sales, popularity and innovation of tech, etc most gamers don't and even if we answered today for example: VITA and 3DS are going to die because of the incoming smartphone world and then tommorow SONY,NINTY release all their big franchises ,open their own app markets and cut price, the future is subjective to actions In the end I don't think we should give him anymore coverage then any other industry in sider. true but he is the only financial guy who actively takes part in the gaming industry so the industry likes to have him |
