Gaming - The Critic's Plight - View Post

There you go again...

You dont see the irony?

Your posts are often aggressive and opinionated and this one is coming of as a bit of attention seeking.

In contrast your reviews are...... bland, efficient but bland, just like 99% of all game reviews.

The solution to your dilemma is simple, grow a pair and become a critic and not just another reviewer.  Why should your audeince influence your opinion or score? I dont understand that at all.

(And you missed my point totally, I dont mind you having a negative opinion... but when you are scared to show that in your reviews you lose any professional credibility whatsoever)

I'm curious why you think my reviews are bland and without guts.  Did you see my Duke Nukem Forever review?  I ripped that game to shreds at every angle, and I got reamed for it.  I'm just honestly curious why you think I'm muting myself just because my casual forum demeanour is much angrier than my reviews.   The main reason I'm so much more volatile on here is because I'm writing about games or hardware I hate (Final Fantasy XIII, Kinect), whereas I've been very fortunate to play games I enjoy so far.  I loved inFamous 2, I was really surprised by Red Faction, I enjoyed the hell out of Final Fantasy IV.  I didn't care for Dissidia, but I wasn't going to go on a rant about the quality of the game because I sucked at it.  There's a very fine line between honesty and opinion. Objectivity vs subjectivity.  if a game sucks, I'm going to ream into it.  I'm not going to go on a rant just because I didn't like it.

Honesty and fairness are important.  Opinion is important too but you need balance.
