And I can understand piracy in countries where the prices are ridiculous...but most pirates I talk to are in the US, Europe, Korea, etc, and there's really no personal excuse to pirate if you live in such a country.

Well if you live at or near the poverty line I could see it.

 While I'd look the other way if someone at the poverty line downloaded games...it's still stealing, and just because you're poor doesn't give you the right to steal.  I can't afford a new PC game all the time...there's games I want to play, but can't buy because I have other financial priorities.  That doesn't mean I download the game...that means I save money and wait til later.
