And next year they launch a home console with a main controller that doesn't support proper motion controls. So this makes Skyward Sword the first and probably the last big fantasy game to really use Wii Motion Plus.

The box will include both controller types. It's up to the game designer to utlize the strenghts and weaknesses of each... then the user can decide which is better for them.

But in the case of a game like Zelda you can't simply support both. With the Wiimote you have practically 1:1 control over the sword (slashes at every possible angle), so how do you translate such controls to a normal controller? The game would basically need to be designed as two separate games to support both control options properly and that's not going to happen.

Not true.

Same game with three potential controller options, allowing player to choose the one that fits them.

1) full wiimote control with angled slicing and dicing among other things.

2) historic 3D zelda controls from previous controllers. Angled slicing here done using 2nd analog controller to specify angle.

3) Full wiimote with touchscreen sitting in dock on coffie table to allow quick access to items/maps and or alternate views.

It can and will be amazing as Zelda is always a great game.
