I know some of the games that CGI mentioned are pretty groundbreaking but some of them, I just don't think will stand the test of time. Gears and Uncharted seem to get by on their graphics, more than their gameplay. While both are awesome now, I feel like they'll be forgotten after the next big thing in graphics comes along. I still have fond memories of Contra 3 but I wouldn't want to play it these days. It's multi-player and intense graphics and gameplay are just outdone by pretty much everything, these days.
Same goes for L.A. Noire. Even as a fan of games like that, I got bored with it before my first playthrough was complete. Yeah, it was groundbreaking as far as graphics tech is concerned but then how many of us want to play Legend of Zelda instead of OoT/Twilight Princess? How many of us would rather play Snes Starfox or Virtua Racing instead of Starfox 3DS or Gran Turismo?
I totally agree about Wii Sports, Little Big Planet, and I'll even toss Dance Central into that mix.
