Cry me a river!!! So the price for 3DS got slashed a lot, so what?? THats a good thing, that means the people who were holding off on buying it will now do so. So some stocks went down, tough tittie, i dont have any stocks in Ninty, sucks for people that do. THats the way it goes

Umm yah its very sad, no 3DS price dropping is not a good thing for all of us who purchased it day one. The Ambassador program barely benefits me I would rather have my 80$ back thank you.It also means alot less profit for Nintendo infact a loss, so that means Nintendo has less money to invest in R&D and software which means less games! Thats bad for everyone! As for the stocks and investors, they keep Nintendo alive without those stocks and investors Nintendo could die. Sure you may think so some stocks went down , big deal. It is a huge deal if WiiU doesn't sell well and investors drop the stocks lower the company could die or be taken over by another company.

I know your not the biggest Nintendo fan. But a bad thing for Nintendo is bad for the entire industry and all those who game in it. Nintendo is the industry, without Nintendo their possibly wouldn't be a games industry. They are the life blood of the entire industry it is them who brought the world through the great gaming crash, it is them who brought Sony into the industry, they brought us 3D, they brought us analog sticks they brought us.... they are the reason the industry is alive.

Nintendo is sacred, no little booh-hoo, you should show them some respect. Nintendo is the best gaming company in existance and them going down is a very sad day for the entire industry. Sure they haven't bit the dust but this loss should be mourned by all. If Nintendo bit the dust it would be 10x more tragic then the loss of Atari and Sega combined.

Its a sad month for all Nintendo fans!

SO if Ninty were to go down you think video games would just stop?? Get real, dude. MS, Apple, Sony would still make their PSs, Xboxs and Iphones. Your giving Ninty Way to much credit. Look, i dont hate Ninty, i have loved every console/portable they have made with the exception of Wii & VB, for the same reasons ayou listed. You purchased a 3DS day one?? Whose fault is that?? No one told you to do that. Yeah that sucks for you and the couple of thousands of people but for all the million potential buyers this is great. I know im thrilled thats 80 bucks i dont have to spend. As a rule of thumb i never buy a console at launch for just this reason.

Best company in all of existence?? Maybe to you and some others but not everyone feels that way. I get that your madly in love with Ninty, but you need to pump your brakes a bit, i dont think its healthy for someone to be that attached to a game company, of all things. I was like that with Sega, its not cute.

Meh, as much as I started liking Ninty much less this gen, they are still a company I want to see around for years to come. They pretty much were a huge contributor to the revival of the video games industry after the crash of 1983 (i was 2 yrs old lol). There is alot of tradition and several ip's that really need to stay. I am tired of seeing 30 different Mario spinoffs (exaggerating), but mainline Mario games and 3D Mario games are always welcome, along with Zelda improvements, Metroid, Pikmin, etc. I would much rather see M$ out of the market than Ninty to be quite honest (and even M$ I rather have stay than apple enter the market). It is good for companies to suffer a fall from grace because that humbles them and helps them refocus on their core market as well as the ip's they develop in house. If Sony wouldn't be third, they wouldn't be pushing their own first parties. Santa Monica Studios, Media Molecule, Team Ico, Studio Liverpool, Guerilla, San Diego Studios, etc. All M$ did this gen was Sony's original PS1 money hat strategy and that only got them to 2nd place just barely with a year head start. Meanwhile Ninty in the past made life difficult for devs which has made them less attractive, hence lack of 3rd party support (true 3rd party support, not shovelware). Many people on this site do not get that many companies do not forget how difficult Nintendo made life for developers from NES era up until the beginning of Gamecube. Ninty allowed themselves to fall for the easy cash ins this gen and it's taking its toll. Although Pokemon will sell no matter how shitty of a so called rpg for dummies it is, they have to truly decide what they want. It is ok to set aside resources to target the blue ocean again, but their main focus has to be customer loyalty. It is all a matter of how much it costs to keep customers happy, and the answer to that lies in releasing each system with at LEAST 1 key IP which in this case would be the lovable plumber. The same goes for Sony when they release the Vita (Drake), and M$ when they release their next xbox. In the gaming industry it is crucial to gain a big install base within the first few months in order to release a second big IP, be it Pokemon, or Zelda, at which point you regain a large percentage of your core and now it's safe to experiment with a new IP, and attract third parties who want to see big opening week sales on their games.

Make games, not war (that goes for ridiculous fanboys)

I may be the next Maelstorm or not, you be the judge http://videogamesgrow.blogspot.com/  hopefully I can be more of an asset than a fanboy to VGC hehe.
