Well its about time Nintendo, geez their should have been DLC this whole generation. As for Nintendo not charging for their first party content that is great. Nintendo shouldn't charge for their own DLC, its a major boost to their first party sales consumers will buy Nintendo games over Microsoft or Sony just for the free DLC.
Honestly I think all games should have DLC and patches for free (If made by Nintendo), its a feature none of the competitors have and Nintendo's unsurpassed quality will keep them competitive. I think if Nintendo started charging for DLC it would chase alot of consumers off, I mean when WiiConnect24 was announced I thought Nintendo would update your game with new DLC and content automatically while you slept and that this content would add new features and gameplay to your game meaning your game would continue to be updated over the months keeping it fresh.
I just hope Nintendo can pull off DLC!
