What sends a worse message to consumers: one big price cut or two small ones within a few months? If the price changes every few months, you might as well hold out until it gets even cheaper. Besides, you have already acknowledged that the Vita could be combated with games which is a much better strategy than just being more affordable anyway. Games are more important than price. Always. |
I would also like to reinforce this by emphasizing that a price cut of this magnitude sends a clear message to both consumers as well as third parties:
"No need to wait any more, or hold out for a "Lite" model". Hell, at this price, any publisher sitting on decent games that can be ready by Christmas would be a fool not to make them their highest priority. (I hope that doesn't translate into heaps of garbage being dumped come November
)
Until you've played it, every game is a system seller!
