People like to label... thanks for understanding

What makes things worse is I'm the type to stand up for my opinion. There are very few 360 supporters on this website, so when people critisize the games I love, without really giving a reason, I don't back down. I would stand up for PS3 and Wii games more often, but before I even get a chance to there are always twenty people doing it for me already. I should just learn to let people be, I can't stop ignorance. It's really annoying because the 360 and PS3 exclsusives are often very closly reviewed and both often above 9/10, yet people only seem to appreciate the games on their console, and critisize the competition so easily.

As for your vote, when you compare Mass Effect 1 to Uncharted, are you comparing it to Uncharted 1? I ask because I felt the third person shooting mechanics in Uncharted 1 were rather glitchy, and it was Uncharted 2 that really polished the gameplay. I do agree though that ME1 << ME2, and VC is an awesome game.

Yeah I'm comparing it to Uncharted 1.  The shooting and animation in Uncharted 2 was much better, but nonetheless the shooting/animation in Uncharted 1 remains way ahead of ME1.  TBH Uncharted 1 shooting and animation is ahead of ME2 as well.  The movement animations in ME 1 and 2 are very stiff and unconvicing compared to other, comparable TPS like Uncharted.  I wonder if its to allow for the focus on high detail on faces, etc. for the RPG conversations but whatever, it's pretty obvious.  The level design and the organic integration of cover is much better in Uncharted 1 as well.  I appreciate in ME1 its obvious Bioware were somewhat struggling to get to grips with Unreal Engine vs Naughty Dog using an engine they knew inside out and had full control over - but that was there choice and as a consumer I'll evaluate on results.  TBH Mass Effect would be better on an engine such as that underneath Uncharted (or Alan Wake) IMHO vs the very level orientated Unreal Engine, which forces lots of silly breaks in the action to load each relatively small section, but I guess that's another thread!

Anyway, enjoy the games you like is my motto.  I do like ME BTW, particularly ME2 technically felt better, Bioware obviously much more comfortable with Unreal by that stage, it's just I feel the series' flaws against better examples tend to be glossed over for some reason, particularly its combat and animations.

Hm.. well everyone has their own opinion. Putting some thought into Uncharted, the shooting mechanics were actually pretty good, it's the level design, character animation (how they die), and glitchyness in the enviroment (when jumping along walls and hiding in cover) that I found to be terrible. The movement in Mass Effect 1 and 2 may be slow compared to uncharted, but I disagree with you about it being unconvincing.

The way I feel about movement animations in Uncharted vs. Mass Effect is Uncharted is more visually appealing (Drake stumbles, and moves his body in a less mechanical way), however Mass Effect is more game focused (When running the environment shakes, and shooting is a bit more polished, especially in cover). Maybe I just like Mass Effect's gameplay because it somewhat reminds me of Gears of War, which is moderatly mechanical, but efficient.

I'm not sure I've noticed the flaws of Mass Effect 2 as much as you. I honestly felt Bioware nailed the gameplay mechanics. Sure Sheppard doesn't trip, stuble, jump, or roll, but when playing the game, I always feel as if I'm in a warzone, and the shooting just feels right. Perfect amount of recoil, no invisible glitchy walls, moving around in cover and shooting feels natural, and I love running.

Anyway, I'm a little surprised to hear someone prize the gameplay mechanics of UC1, but to be honest, the shooter mechanics are pretty decent. We could go into this, but everyone has their own opinion. I love Uncharted and Mass Effect, but I can tell we both appreciate each game for different reasons.
