It is easy: summon, death.  No strategy needed.

Summons are utterly useless in the game (one of it's low point). Death has a very low chance of working. Horrible strategy you have.

Poor Boutros, that IS the strategy.  Malboro Wand for Vanille, summon will push the Adamantoise over.  You have about 5+ uses of death before it gets up.  Restart the battle if it gets up.  It has a higher success rate than you think it does.  Then once you've leveled up enough and you get genji gloves adamantoises become Fang's bitch.  Or you can use Sazh if you don't wanna try death at lower levels.

Restart the battle if it gets up? Do you have any idea how inefficient that is. I'm not talking about killing him once. I'm talking about getting Platinum. You certainly do not want it to be longer then it already is. Mass killing of Adamantoise is done using the stratety in the video or something similar. You don't want to make it about luck. Also your strategy would not work on Adamantortoise.

Like I said it's not as inefficient as you think.  Death works more often than not.  For low levels that is the strategy.  Level up Sazh a bit more and you can kill it with just Sazh and his wide range attack after a summon.  Then once you get genji gloves you only need a 3 sen, 3 rav, 3 healer, 3 commando setup to kill it with Fang.  And go ask Perpride what he was doing to kill Adamantoises and he'll tell you what I'm telling you and he has that game platinumed.  And the death strategy works on everything that arn't Shen Longs.
