Achievements.

This big reason, every game has them. I want to be credited to gaining points for games before 2009, and I don't want to be forced to replay Uncharted to get the trophies through a patch.

Other reasons:

-Achievements are better organized.
--Trophies feel like experience points used to level up. The higher the level the more experience you need to level up again. After you get to a certain point, you loose motivation to level up. I prefer milestones set by achievements (10,000k, 50,00k, 100,00k), that way I know how much every game is worth from day one.
--Different games have different number of trophies. There is no direct way to compare my progress in one game to another. There is a percentage completion, but nowhere does it say how many % each trophy is worth.

--Trophies need to be synced. They are not updated automatically like achievements.

-Games with Zero points can be deleted

-Achievements have a more predetermined value. If a game has 10 trophies, the gold in that game is worth much more then the gold in a game with 50 trophies, and there is no value system awarded to trophies.

-Achievements are also organized by date obtained. When comparing PS3 trophies, you can't do that.

-Achievements also unlock Avatar Awards

However, there is one flaw with achievements. To complete a game, you must get all the achievements in the DLS's as well. It's nice when you plan on getting the DLC, but it sucks when you don't. This is the only time I see trophies as better.
