I don't have a top 5... but I'll mention some anime I've enjoyed thoroughly as far as I can remember them...

- Most of the Studio Ghibli anime
- Akira
- Fushigi Yugi
- Haunted Junction (everybody watch this!!)
- Kacho Oji - Hardrock Save the Space (anybody know this too?)
- Neon Genesis Evangelion (can't wait for the rest of the remakes)
- Millennium Actress
- Tokyo Godfathers
- Samurai Champloo

And probably a lot that I forgot...
