He survived being stuck in an infinite loop of being teleported to three different places at once. Meanwhile, Hulk has been taken down by tranquilizers before. Doomsday will simply develop some sort of natural tranquilizer that calms the Hulk and when Hulk reverts to Banner, SPLAT!!
I even remember Wizards list of the deadliest villains of all time and what would happen if they faced off. Doomsday was near the top, only beaten by guys like Magneto and Lex Luthor because they would be smart enough to teleport Doomsday someplace else and make him "somebody else's problem". Nobody in that entire list (all powerful guys like Galactus and Darkseid--who already had his ass kicked by Doomsday-rather easily, I might add) would beat Doomsday in a physical contest. Hulk foe, The Abomination, didn't even make the list.
If I'm not mistaken, in the list of most powerful heroes, Hulk was beaten by Silver Surfer, Thor, Superman, Wonderwoman, Firestorm, Doc Strange, Spawn, Flash, AND Professor X. They even explained how each person would beat Hulk, based on their history, strengths, and weaknesses. Hulk is powerful (Just read World War Hulk to see how powerful....) but, like I said, Doomsday would kill him! |
But also remember as I recall the Hulk has been reduced to basically skeleton before and just regenerated. Hulk has survived in ridiculous environments as well. The thing about tranquilizers on the Hulk I think there are factors involved with that. One it depends on the writer, because most writers agree that would not happen as it would only make him angrier. The other factor is that sometimes the Hulk goes into a calm state when not fighting and at that moment it is easier for him to revert back to banner. In that instance I would say he was going to revert back to banner anyways. Also remember that it seems Hulk rage, strength, power, abilities, toughness increase more so when he is fighting a more worthy opponent, because when the Hulk is actually being beaten and pounded on by someone strong it can tend to increase his anger moreso rather than someone weaker hitting him which he sees as a smaller threat.
Also the list you are refering to is information from a list back in 1997. That was before we saw the iteration of World Breaker Hulk from the Planet Hulk series. That Hulk is ridiculously powerful and is like putting the normal savage Hulk on ultimate steroids, plus that version of the Hulk had a much higher intelligence, and had extensive combat training by an alien race that fought as gladiators.
I understand that Doomsday is insanely powerful, but also is the Incredible Hulk. We cant underestimate his ability to regenerate very fast and also how his abilities increase the angrier he gets. Hulks strength, stamina, durability, regenerative healing, speed, and power all increase with his rage. So the longer the fight lasts the more difficult for Doomsday to overcome and counter him. I also highly doubt Doomsday would be able to actually Kill/terminate the Hulk. If both can come back from skeleton form then I doubt this match will be decided easily.
