No I don't blame MS and Apple.

I just don't understand why Google, with all their brain power and resources didn't see this coming?

Google is a software company. Not a hardware company. They are now in hardware manufacturer's courts, and they have no idea what they are doing, essentially. Furthermore, I don't believe Google wants to invest the kinds of money needed to make Android the undisputed #1 OS....Which is their only achilles heel. They could easily destroy everyone else *if* they wanted to put the resources into it. But unlike few other companies, they have their hands in pretty much everything, and that allows them to easily be picked off by others.
