Honestly though I don't have any special recollection of it being that terrible... so either it's bearable or I blocked out the memory

I'm sure if you  were to try it, it'd be alright. It's just the thought of eating it.

Sorta like why a lot of people dislike Haggis. It tastes nice, it's the thought which goes into eating it I suppose.
