When I was 6, I think, my grandfather wanted to go to back yard to pick up some pears that grew behind an abandoned shack that was in our back yard (our house had quite the huge yard), so I wanted to come with him, but he said no, so I decided to follow him. I was about to start following him (he was already in the backyard) when I heard EAR BREAKING EXPLOSION, and I fall back on the ground and everything went black for few seconds and after 2 seconds i hear very loud screaming. At first, I didnt know what happened and who was screaming, but than I saw my grandfather running extremly fast by me and screaming, and he had something red all over his arms. The pure panic and chaos started, and I didnt know what the hell was going on, everyone around me started yelling, shouting and crying, hell even my dad was crying (that was the first and only time I've seen him cry) andm y grandmother fell unconscious. Next day I found out what really happened it turns out a bomb (yes, a bomb) was in our abandoned shack, people said it was most likely some kind of NATO bomb that they dropped in 1999 that faild to detonate or explode but this was never confirmed, the true orgin of the bomb was never confimed. My grandfather heard some noise coming from the shack, the bomb exploded and he lost his right arm, and I was only like 30 meters behind him. The shack was mostly destroyed.

So, had my grandfather allowed to to come with him, I would probably end up dead or severely injured. Tough year...
