What do you think are the most over-rated and under-rated franchises? Please do every catagory. You may state your reason for picking the frachises you picked but you don't have to.

Also, Over-rated in terms of this thread could mean being talked about too much, or having more sales then you think it deserves. Under-rated in terms of this thread could mean not being hyped enough, or having lower sales then you think it deserves. My picks for each catagory are below:
Over-Rated 3rd Party
I think that Final Fantasy is the 2nd most over-rated 3rd Party franchise of all time. Its reviews are not too good but decent ranging from 63-94 on Metacritic. Its sales are way better than it deserves IMO with its top 5 selling games selling over 5 Million each. Many people consider Final Fantasy 1 of the best franchises of all time and each time a game gets anounced the hype is insane. I personally don't know why.
I find Call Of Duty to be the most over-rated 3rd Party franchise ever made. While I enjoy nazi zombies...the rest of the game I don't. Also, Nazi zombies isn't even in all of the COD games. Its reviews are good with its last 2 games getting a 94%(MW2) and 87%(BO) on Metacritic. With its yearly games and hype its bound to have high sales...too high IMO. The last 2 games in the franchise have sold a total of 25.2 Million on the 360 and 19.5 Million on the PS3 for an overall total of 44.7 Million between the last 2 games alone.(Without Wii/DS versions of BO)
Under-Rated 3rd Party
Elebits is the 2nd most under-rated 3rd Party franchise IMO. Has anyone even heard of Elebits before? If you don't own a Wii or DS then probably not...if you do then you probably haven't either. Elebits is in my top 5 Wii games ever made and its sequel on the DS is also in my Top 5 DS games. Its gameplay is simple but addicting and overall fun. Both its reviews and sales are very low IMO though. Both games hold a 75% on Metacritic and its sales are 380K between both games. If you own a Wii or DS...pick up these games.
It may come to a surprise to many of you but IMO the Sonic Franchise is the most under-rated 3rd Party franchise of all time. Sonic under-rated? While he may get attention due to being Sega's mascot...its not always good attention. The lowest review Sonic has ever gotton was a 33 while the highest was a 89 on Metacritic for Sonic Adventure 2 on DreamCast. Really? It has never gotton a 90-plus review? I never played the DreamCast one but I had Sonic Adventure 2 Battle on the GC and it was a lot of fun. The older Sonic's were very fun as well. While the older Sonic games have gotton decent reviews its best selling solo game was Sonic The Hedgehog 2 with 6 Million. IMO, old Sonic is better than old and new platforming Mario yet Mario outsold it by far back on the SNES. I don't know about you but I am looking forward to Generations.
