Firstly, these games may not be considered shovelware, I haven't played them, some or all may well be good kids games. That aside, and much more importantly, my point was that the PS2 and Wii, the two most successful home consoles ever (and please don't point out that the PS1 has still got a slight lead on the Wii, it ain't gonna last), are also the two consoles most associated with kids games and shovelware. This is because developers of kids games and shovelware are perfectly capable of recognising the most popular console, and because the existence of kids games and shovelware further drives hardware sales and revenue for the console they are on. The fact that the Wii has kids games/shovelware only proves my point. The fact that the gamecube has kids games/shovelware is no impediment to my point - just because shovelware generally tends to flock to, and cause, a successful console, doesn't mean that it is entirely absent on other consoles. I believe the cause of your misinterpretation was because you assumed that my point was "how dare you say bad things about Nintendo! In return, I shall say bad things about Sony." I assure you, I really don't give a shit what console maker you like. |
Those are excellent points but there is a major difference between PS2 & WIi, the PS2 got excellent 3rd party core games in its time. not so much the WIi, which IMHO is the reason why more people give the WIi crap for that than PS2, hell the DS has shovelware and kiddy crap out the ass but for everyone of those, there is a Radiant Historia, or a Mario or some cool crap. I dont care how much Icarlys or what have you are made as long as there is a balance.
OT i dont think 3DS is in any trouble all Ninty portables have had stuff like that. and they all turned out great. Street Fighter, DOA, Ridge Racer, 2 Resident Evil a MGS port, my god those are as core as you can get. The 3DS is in no trouble, id go so far to say that it will be kinda like PSP in terms of types of games it receives
