Does anyone seriously believe we wont see new consoles announced next year?  and price cuts must be just around the corner.

YoY numbers are bad indeed, but both MS and Sony have good reasons to not rush next gen launches. 2012 announcements and 2013 launches aren't unlikely, but MS and Sony will wait to see price cuts effects and they'll watch what happens to Ninty after its early launches too before deciding.
