Using middle brightness I get between four and five hours of playtime with 3DS games and seven to eight hours with DS games out of a single charge. That's not triple, Zapp.

Well I use maximum brightness and turn the Wi-Fi on when I play 3DS games and the battery dies in 17 minutes.  I turned the backlighting off (which results in a totally black screen) and played Super Mario 64 for 8 days straight.  Okay.  I lied.  But on average, I get somewhere around three hours worth of play on a normal 3DS game and around (like you said) 8 hours on a DS game.......I think.  I've actually never had the 3DS die on me.  I saw the light turn red once, indicating that it was time for a charge.  I plugged it in.  I tend to play with the system plugged in or charge it whenever I'm not playing.  I got the "triple time" info from a faq I read at work, yesterday.  I was trying to figuer out how to change the game resolution.

On an unrelated note:  Gimme your friend code, Rol.  I'm collecting friends right now!  Mine is 3823-8631-8090

what?

I bought my 3DS to play Zelda as well and I am very happy and impressed by the 3D and the other functionalities in it like the gyro aiming in games. It felt really good when I shot down gohma(SP?) the first boss. I was actually looking up to shot at it on the sealing. lol it felt immersive.

Can’t wait for Mario, Paper Mario, Kid icarus, RE mercenaries, animal crossing and more. Luigis mansion trailer looked good in 3D and so did the other games

Whatever Nintendo does will be called a gimmick since it is different from what they are used to and they need something to hate on :P
