the chances of global unity and world peace are far lower than humans becoming extinct.

You have to face the fact that we are a very destructive violent creature, just look around, we are spending so much resources on building weapons to destroy us then help us.

We are greed driven, destruction is only a side effect.

No we are not. We choose to be so. Nature doesnt make us bad, we do it ourselves. We are neither greedy nor destructive by nature.

That could never be true if being greedy and destructive was not innate in people than acting that way would not even occur to us. Any way of acting is a part of nature because we are a part of nature.

If humans are greedy by nature, than every single human on the planet would be greedy. My grandfather is the very definition of, for the lack of the better word, ''anti-greedy''.  And humans arent controlled by nature, we have free wil to decide weather or not we choose money over everything else in the world, or put aside materialistic things and look up to ore important things in life. For example, no one is born a serial killer, they either choose to do so, or are made that way in the childhood, but they sure as hell weren't born with the desire to kill people.
