HD development in the beginning isn't going to be that different because most art assets are created in HD in the first place. HD isn't some magical thing that automatically makes development harder. Most design problems in modern console gaming - at least at Nintendo - is conceptual, not technical. They don't strictly need to know exactly how powerful the Wii U is to design a game for it. Now I'm not saying that the launch lineup isn't going to be shit - of course it is, it always is, there will be one good game and that'll be it for months - but this doomsaying "no games until 2014" crap is already tired. Stop it. |
Im sure by HD, he wasnt simply refering to the resolution. When talking about HD graphics people often just use it as aterm reffering to the graphical fidelity of games seen on console which support HD (ps3/360?PC). Creating graphically impressive games seen on th HD consoles like uncharted 3 etc take a long time, especially if you havnt already made the foundation for development. Seeing as nintendo has been using 10 years old hardware they may struggle with the transition and they definitely dont have any foundations unless their gonna use a 3rd part graphics engine
