From what i have read the DP game npcs are much more involved and interesting with set habits and personality than is the case with normal sandbox games a la GTA/Infamous. The main characters themselves seemed a bit cliched but i guess i will take the authors word that they are more than stereotypes. Overall seems worth a try. Sadly its not on ps3 so far. fingers crossed we get it in near future.
