It's just people forgetting how DS performed and how it was outsold 2/3:1 by the PS2...PSP has games, 3DS is starting having games but in a smaller amount. If I was a Japanese interested in JRPGs or the usual japan games I would buy a PSP over a 3DS, after all you could buy it later for a smaller price. It's selling below the expectations but they were too high, it's not like doomed right now, even if it'll fall below 20k in the summer due to lack of Nintendo games (just a Pokemon spinoff if I'm right).
