Everyone seeing strong pre-order numbers which is fantastic cause it looks like we are going to have a massive holiday in terms of sales which is both excellent for the industry and will make the forums hella exciting.

One note though, Vgchartz you are continueing to undertrack Halo CEA, I'm not quite sure why on this but its true.


Pre-orders have always been missleading. there always seam to be a few games that get tons of pre-orders but there fw is smaller than there pre-orders. remember mag. Sure i think gears 3 will do amazing 7-8 million seams possible but do i think it will do 8.5-9.5 million like gt5 or 10-11 million like reach no i do not.

Also ya i think they have CEA undertraked as well.


Gears 3 will CRUSH GT5 in sales in NA which is what I stated.  I said there's a chance it could outsell it WW but we'll have to see.

Gears of War 1 NA Sales :  3,694,180

Gears of War 2 NA Sales:  3,875,045

Gran Turismo 5 NA Sales:  1,744,914

Gear of War is only second to Halo in terms of largest exclusive games on HD consoles in NA  You also have to take into account the Gears numbers don't take into account Download sales which both games are offered in full for download on Xbox Live.  And GT5 is only sitting at 6,300,385 Worldwide.  I don't see it doing anything over 8 million honestly unless it gets HEAVILY bundled.  Gears 3 certainly has a chance of outselling it World Wide.


^ For starters we an't know for sure if it's at 6.3 million because many people are complaing it's undertracked because by Dec 31st they shipped 6.4 million and they have sent new shipments a while ago so I'm guesiing it's at around 6.6 million. But Gran Turismo 5 will crush Gears of War 3 in Emmea sales. It will possibly almost tripple it if it hits 6 million over there and looking at the weekly sales over there it looks like it will do so. And BELIVE ME GT5 has great legs it will sell amazingly in the Holidays. It looks like  Gears 3 will have a bigger opening but that's about it. It just can't compete with GT5 legs. So I SAY...

Gears of War 3: 7.5-8 million

GT5: 9.5-11 million
