Because their is a truth in it, that's called the hidden pressure of society.

At a certain age if you don't have a house, don't own a car, don't have a job or are married people will see you as an failure and if you dare to complain about it people will say to you 'If you didn't spend all that time/money in gaming you also could have what we have' and that is mostly the time when people will say time to grow up stop with gaming.

Basically if you have a goal in life the best thing to do is quiting gaming (or any hobby) and work hard for it to reach it because every hour spending on gaming or hobby will decrease your chances to reach that goal. Sure if you want to play on videogames that is fine but don't expect that people will be nice to you when you didn't reach your goal and start complaing.. Society loves winners not losers.
