If Nintendo is truly interested in targeting the "hardcore" demographic with the Wii U, the smartest possible thing they can do right now (besides allowing up to four tablet controllers to be used at once) is to target the damn hardcore demographic RIGHT NOW. They have a year before Wii U launches, and all the Wii has coming out is Zelda and Kirby. Not good enough. That allows for more than enough time for gamers to just forget about the Wii brand before the new system launches. If they dropped Xenoblade, Kirby, Zelda, Last Story, and Pandora's Tower every other month until Wii U launches, then they'll keep people focused on the Wii brand and have a better chance of a successful launch.

This would also go a long way toward convincing us hardcore gamers that Nintendo really and truly cares about appealing to us.

Some have been wondering if that wasn't their plan all along, at least on NoA's part, to merely quietly dump the games in early 2012 as a way to keep gamers quiet while not actually making "new" content to Wii while they rev up for Wii U

And if they weren't planning on doing that, likely that's what they will do if they react positively to this campaign.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
