When did Sony lose third party support though? I know they're not really getting third party exclusives, but that has nothing to do with them losing support, that's simply because of the development costs these days.
And I don't really think the profitability of any of their studios are a problem at this point. The only guys I can think of that might not be making them money are the Motorstorm team, and even then, they are some of Sony's 3D specialists, doing a lot of 3D R&D for Sony.
I think it's more important that the individual studios retain their creative freedom (as now), instead of being directed to specific projects that they may or may not want to be involved in.
