well it depends if they decide to do quality tablets or not..... I mean something like the iPad is a joke for newbies, fashion victims, or geeks with too much money to spend..... at that price tag for an iPhone with a big touch screen bad components.... bad app support for independent apps.... stuff like that..... it's not gonna happen any time soon
I mean it might take over in sales... but it doesn't mean it will take over a PC in terms of quality and functionality.... hopefully it will... if people support other brands than the mainstream one... that do low quality in a nice box with nice catch phrases in their campain... same to replace consoles....
I want something with some sort of processing power... nothing less than 2gb of ram.... 250gb storage min.... stuff like that... a real PC in a tablet... not an oversized sparkly smartphone.....
all in all I don't think anything gonna replace anything.... meaning that we will probably see a change in the basic stuff like TV having PC like functionality in them with a slot for your smartphone/hanheld/external HDD/media player receiver/ remote/ game pad/ (all that being one device that each member of your familly owns) you come in the room your TV recognize you through your cellphone.... starts your fav app/ TV show / game
we'll see less diversification of devices and a blending of function in one device... but right we just have a pile of messy crap, for wana be techies, or fashion victim.... cause there is nothing out there right now that really justify there price tags..... especially since most of what peeps do on it is still useless...
