This is sad, we've basically hit a point in this generation where new or niche IPs can no longer sustain themselves on consoles. Back in 2009, games like WET would release and still continue to sell decently, it was even profitable and a sequel has been listed, but three good games have come out and they've all bombed (Alice, Dungeon Siege and Child of Eden) despite the user-bases of the current consoles being much bigger. People are just sticking to the grounded franchises and the mass marketed titles.

I'd also like to add that the game press are fucked. After E3 all I heard about was how unoriginal every new game is, how everything is an FPS and how games aren't creative enough and when games release that follow the criteria that they wanted, they get criticised for such insignificant and silly things, even though those exact same criticisms aren't held up against major franchises, shooters or heavily marketed games. Alice: Madness Returns is one of the best games I've played this year (I played all the major releases) and it's being attacked for playing like a game and not an interactive movie. When games with significant flaws like Portal 2, L.A. Noire and Crysis 2 get rave reviews, without any of those flaws being brought up in the reviews, then I can only shake my head at how utterly disappointing the gaming press is.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.
