Wow just when you thought things couldn't get weirder for MMO's it seems that a performance artist has decided to think outside the box by shoving himself inside one. Gamer Jordan Wayne Long of Arkansas has decided to study the effects of post tramatic stress disorder and how games can help people cope.
So whats he going to do to study this, well he's going to lock himself in a custom made gaming crate and get shipped across the country from Bald Knob, Ark., to Portland, Ore. All while playing the MMO "Lord of the Rings Online". The trip will be watched with reports from both the inside of the crate and the outside documenting every inch of the trip (While pretty close).
His theory is that many PTSD sufferers feel locked up at home and that MMO's can give them release to their stressful lives. "Being locked in the crate is an opportunity for me to feel the effects of being confined and understand better how these online communities can affect us in a positive way." So Jordan's hope is that gaming will help him cope with these seven days and that he'll emerge unphased I guess.

Anyways first thing that comes to mind is finding an excuse to game straight for seven days, but this is insaine locking yourself in a crate. Is this guy out of his mind or is he onto something? Actually how many of us would love to be shipped across the US while playing our favorite MMO the whole way? Are we crazy too?
Anyways the guy ships out (Literally) on July first for his trip across the USA. Will you be watching? Think inside the box, really a guy inside a box lol!
