Wii Fit / Play / Sports are likely to be regulars in the top 10 software all year, much like Brain Training / More BT / Animal Crossing / MK DS were all through 2006 and the first half of 2007, Smash Bros also won't do Wii any harm. I predicted Wii sales to be above DS this year in Japan, which i think is quite possible.

@Avinash_Tyagi, Wii is most likely to peak in 2008 - with Galaxy, Zelda:TP, Brawl, Mario Kart, Wii Sports / Fit / Play, MH III, more Square-Enix stuff, a crossover of other 3rd party stuff like Powerful Pro BB and an increase of supply then 2008 should be Wiis biggest year in Japan. Price drops and colours tend to have much less of an effect in Japan than in the west and consoles tend to peak earlier over there.

Yes, you are right. Wii Fit, Sports, Play are regulars in the top 10 software all year, but they were made by Nintendo and they are primary for casual gamers, if Nintendo want to drag some 3rd parties, they need to start developing hardcore games and leave casual games for 3rd parties.

Look at Square Enix, they have three options, first one: they can develop a top brand new game, which will cost around 15 mil. (based on the last gen standards - Square Enix AAA game) or they can develop casual game for like 2 mil. and probably reach the same sales like they reach with AAA game or they can port FF X with new controls, which will cost them around 2 - 3 mil. and sale like 2.5 mil. copies only in Japan. So, if you are in Square Enix, what will you choose?

I am Nintendo supporter from NES era and I am not glad when I see new trends. If Wii Fit, Sports, Play are selling great, it means the Nintendo will focuse more on these titles than on the Pikmin, Metroid and many others (not to mention new IP).
