These people are talking about mainline Super Mario Bros. games, not spin-offs. And Pokémon has always been more suited for handhelds.

That said, based on the direction Nintendo is currently taking with the 3DS, I think the competition will more fierce than the DS vs. PSP battle was.

I thought Mario 64 was a mainline Mario game.

Only mario games with amazing sales (> 10 million) are mainline mario games.

OT:

Vita has what 3DS has (and more actually) except for 3D.....and the 3D "Craze" is dying out, at the box office too.

Despite all this its at a similar price.
