Wii U won't support DVD or Blu-Ray playback... your thoughts?

Am I the only one thinking they are doing it because of piracy?, I think if the next xbox doesnt go fully digital, which is pretty obvious. MS will go down the same road, to avoid being pirated, of course pirates can still use the HDD, but its one less hole to worry about.
