Why you think Sony will lost money with a $199 PS3? The last price cut was in 2009 and the Slim already had no cost for Sony... after that there was shrink of Cell and RSX.
In 2010 had a research showing Sony profit ~$30 per console at $299... maybe is possible in one year to cut the cost in more $70.
