I was hoping that with Nintendo's push to more media experiences via online that they would include a bluray player. However, I always knew there was a significant chance there would be no video playback via disc.
Guess they'll stick to netflix and other internet based solutions to avoid the added licensing costs.
Not a big issue as it just forces me to keep my PS3 around for movies... unless I sale it and simply buy a basic bluray player.
I'll have to wait to see how WiiU's online stacks up... especially its browser. I want it to be updated far more frequently as I like to hunt for videos and right now I'm forced to use PS3 for that as its crappy browser is still far more useful than Wii's.
