Launch PS3 60Gb died about a half year ago, then resurrected. After resurrection it began having GPU issues.
That same PS3 60GB then had the BD drive give out and the HDMI connector crap out in early February.
In late February my launch 60GB went zombie on me and the BD drive began working again, but the HDMI slot was still fried. Had to use component. GPU issues no longer noticable.
Now the component output isn't working right and only will display up to 480i, but the PS3 60GB still reads DVDs and BD movie/games.
This sucka has heart! He refuses to go down! How long until it displays 1080p again?!
