The ps2 had no more new games since third parties dumped it and the ps3 came out so first parties dumped it too, the ps3 and 360 will. Plus 250$ with a game made it a pretty damn good deal. Its different when the system is gonna cost over 300$ and when the ps3 has blueray to go with your shiny new HD/3d tv. Thats what the ps3 was made for, to last a long fucking time.

That's an interesting theory, but the PS2 was still seeing a steady stream of games being released in 2007, 2008 and 2009 ...
