I think that the other two might be the ones that are too late. The Wii has had a normal life cycle and Nintendo is moving toward the future while the others are extending the "life" of their consoles in order to make the sales look more respectable.

Nintendo is getting the jump on the competition.

'normal' what's normal in this industry? Why is abnormal for things to evolve. The 3rd year peak and 5 year cycle is old news. Pretty sure MS and Sony want to recoup some money, and PS360 are still doing great so why not?

Normal is a five or six year cycle.  Always has been.

Things are evolving as you call it because as you stated, the PS360 want to recoup some money.

Now I might not be a genius but I can read the sales on the front page, and if PS360 is doing great then what is the Wii doing?

Not great, Nintendo are intervening but they still expect to be 3rd this year, and looks like Wii is going to continue going down, it's no longer a viable platform for Nintendo. PS360 havn't even had their peak years yet.
