It all boils down to the type of games that you like.
SMG is somewhat easy -- at least at the early levels (My 5-year old can play it pretty well). So it has a Wow factor but early on does not have a challenge factor.
Z&W is a different game -- one that takes more thought than reaction.
Both are old school (and Z&W is very old school) in their attraction.
Just some quick thoughts from work.
