Yes sorry, I'm missing the point. When you talk about the Gamecube controller I agree, but what's different exactly between the WiiU controller and Classic control to play SSB? You have the same buttons. About the 100$ WiiU controller, yes that's a very rough guess, but what makes you think this controller won't be more expansive to produce than a DS lite. It has a lot of things you normally have in a DS: buttons, speakers, wireless connectivity, a battery, a much bigger screen, with a much higher resolution, even without internal rendering it will need a small endebbed processor to manage video streaming. In the end I think it will cost a lot more to produce than a DSlite. That said pricing is not all a matter of production costs, still I think a 70 to 100$ is more realistic than a 50$-70$. |
I'm going to agree with Padib above and say the Classic Controller, at least when it comes to SSB sucks. At least Brawl gave us the option to use Gamecube controllers.
Processing? Oh please the Wii-U does most of the processing. Now I will give you that it has a lot of the stuff a DS lite does but the way I think about it, if Nintendo decides that only 1 or 2 Wii-U Controllers can be used with the console, then they will be taking a step backwards. Sorry if I sound blunt but thats the way I see it. Multiplayer has always been a big impact in my family especially four player and there are many in my family that don't like the Wii Remote/Classic Controller. They do however love Gamecube controllers. This will be a make it or break it for the system.
NINTENDO
